The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) has embarked on a six-city town hall tour to create an open forum for public conversations around waste tire disposal and regulatory compliance. The community meetings have raised public awareness about the importance of proper waste tire disposal to mitigate pollution, reduce fire hazards, and eliminate mosquito breeding grounds.
LDEQ plans to take further action following the tour by enforcing tighter regulations on tire disposal and management, increasing funding for tire disposal programs, and collaborating with local governments and businesses to improve tire management infrastructure and prioritize compliance.
